Asbed Kotchikian

Asbed Kotchikian (Ph.D., Boston University, 2006) is a lecturer in political science at Bentley University. Before joining Bentley he was the Assistant Director of International Affairs Program at Florida State University where he taught courses in Eurasian and Middle Eastern politics. He has also taught at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in New York, Boston University and Wheaton College (MA). He spent two years (2000-2002) in Armenia and Georgia, where he conducted research and was a visiting lecturer in political science and international relations at local universities. During the last 10 years Dr. Kotchikian has also traveled extensively and lived in the Middle East (Iran, Lebanon, Syria) and former Soviet Union. He has written, lectured, organized conferences and delivered presentations on topics such as foreign policies of small and weak states, national identity, and regional developments in the Middle East and Eurasia within academic and public venues in the South Caucasus, Middle East, US and Europe. His book titled The Dialectics of Small States: Foreign Policy Making in Armenia and Georgia was published in 2008 by VMD Verlag. He is currently the editor of the academic peer reviewed journal Armenian Review.
