Vahe Sahakyan is a PhD candidate in Economics at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and a PhD candidate in Quantitative Finance at the Swiss Finance Institute, Zurich. He also holds a Candidate of Science (equivalent to PhD) in Mathematical Methods in Economics from the Yerevan State University, Master of Arts in Economics from the Central European University, Budapest, and Master of Science in Finance from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Over 10 years of Vahe Sahakyan’s experience includes work at the World Bank as a consultant for private sector development and competition policy, and work at the Bank for International Settlements as a quantitative financial analyst. He held different positions within the Armenian public sector, including in Central Bank, Public Services Regulatory Commission and Ministry of Trade and Economic Development. Vahe Sahakyan also has an extensive teaching experience in econometrics, corporate finance and game theory. He has published about 10 articles and his research interests are in microeconomics of banking and financial markets, corporate finance, regulation economics, and asset pricing and mathematical finance.
