The average profit of Armenia's monopolists from the sale of imported products exceeded 100 percent. According to the official data, a total of 88,000 tons of sugar were imported to Armenia. The minimum selling prices of 1kg at shops was 210 AMD, whereas the company owned by the Parliament member Samvel Alexanyan imported sugar at 108 AMD for 1kg.
Similarly, the import of one liter of vegetable oil cost 320 AMD, whereas the selling price in Armenia reaches 800-1,000 AMD. Thus, the profit reached 120 percent.
